Edit : The correct name would be tetrahedron.

No Day
Starting with the Sun day and ending with Earth Day, each day is observed as "X day" where X is a random thing under the Sun and above Earth's surface. Need examples? Here we go : Birthday (everyday, but different set of people observe this day), Mayday (occurs on random/unpredictable days) , Pi Day (14 March), Towel Day (25 May. I celebrate as I'm a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Shutdown Day, International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Mole Day, Square Root Day and with due credits to Dave Barry, I'm not making this up - National Kick-Butt Day. So, I have decided to celebrate today as "No Day", which is dedicated to nothing. To go with this "No Day" I have this photo :

Beetle on Spiral Track
Last night this Beetle flew into the no-fly zone of my home. I haven't seen much beetles in Bangalore and was little bit surprised to see one near me. So I took the next logical step - took out the camera and started to shoot. After few unsuccessful attempts to break the window glasses, the Beetle settled on the carpet. After sometime I got this shot. I thought the Beetle would traverse the spiral path. He was a bit reluctant in doing so and I tried to convince him to take the path in English, Malayalam, Hindi and in broken Kannada and French without success. May be I need to learn more languages or beetles can't hear.
Note to Animal/Beetle Rights activists : This beetle was in no way harmed during the creation of this post. However a Canon camera and a bunch of electrons were terribly inconvenienced during the process. Even though this beetle trespassed into my home, it was given a red pink carpet welcome. After the shooting session, the Beetle settled down on a transportation device made from recycled paper and was safely transported to the balcony of my home without using any fossil fuels. I here by affirm that the beetle was safe during the entire period it was in my property.

The Tale of a Spider
There is a long standing agreement between me and the spiders - never to step on each other. Spiders are kind of creepy, but it is not a good enough reason for me to kill them. In fact, they are very interesting creatures. For a photographers like me, they are very cooperative subjects. In the past I have photographed many spiders. Compared to butterflies, spiders are very photographer friendly and you can take all the time in the world to photograph them.
I happened to see this spider some time back in August 2009 near my home while photographing butterflies. There were about five of them in close proximity waiting for the prey to land in their web. I used to photograph them every time I go there. Unfortunately I used to delete the most of the photos of them. While looking at my photos few days back, I realized that in a span of 4 months, I have shot the same spider multiple times. Here are those shots:

Arduino says hello
Bought an Arduino Duemilanove yesterday. First reaction - why didn't I buy this earlier? I never imagined microcontroller programming will become this easy. I was able to connect a 16X2 LCD display without much effort. Arduino Rocks.
This photo was taken using my Sony DSC-P93 in manual mode. Lighting was done using a florescent desk lamp.
