Starting with the Sun day and ending with Earth Day, each day is observed as "X day" where X is a random thing under the Sun and above Earth's surface. Need examples? I celebrate as I'm a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Shutdown Day, International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Mole Day, Square Root Day and with due credits to Dave Barry, I'm not making this up - National Kick-Butt Day.
